Lawson examines why the growing attrition rates of Veteran Women in the VA Healthcare System and why women may not receive services. Moreover, he focuses on the disparities in the screening and diagnosis process for service-connected benefits and the treatment of patients who have PTSD, depression, and Military Sexual Trauma. Furthermore, he reviews the qualitative and quantitative data associated with 26 peer-reviewed empirical studies, one UCLA dissertation, and a smaller literary review.
