It’s about time people really start to take this seriously. I know I joked about it before but a ‘Dust Bowl’ is no joke.

As I always say, “Your story and our story is history.” Yet the funny thing about history is that it is bound to repeat itself. So let me give you a brief lesson and some food for thought.

In the 1930s there was a time when we had a period of severe dust storms in United States and Canada. This period was also called the Dirty Thirties or the Dust Bowl

The dust storms were not only violently dangerous, but the storms also caused damage to the nations  agricultural system. The conditions destroyed the crops, the farms and the agriculture ecology.

In the next episode of In The Hot Box with Doc & Dy, my co-host Dyanna Riggs said something that really had me thinking. She said, “Why are we not working on a plan as a nation?”

I may need to check the video to see if that’s exactly what she said. What she meant though is that there are many other states that receive excessive rain and snow. Yes, there are environmental aspects as to why we should not ship water from other states to prevent the effects of global warming. Yes, It does somewhat defeat the purpose by causing more pollution. Yet major water distributors transport water across continents everyday in the name of commerce.

What say you?
