Biography: Mareo-Ahmir Lawson M.Ed. Student – Training Specialist and Multimedia Coach
Mareo-Ahmir Lawson grew up in South Central Los Angeles. He had the privilege of being a part of LA County’s Magnet School Program, he became a court ward at age fifteen. However, education has been a source of stability in his life, especially after his military service in the Middle East.
Lawson has obtained degrees with honors in Journalism and Film, Television & Electronic Media from Pierce College. He also graduated Cum Laude from California State University, Northridge’s (CSUN) school of cinema and television with a degree in Electronic Media Management.
He has served as an editorial assistant in the 88.5 KCSN Newsroom, radio host, program director, and a producer at KPCRadio.com. Mareo has also served as a Student Administrative Support Assistant at the CSUN Veterans Resource Center while maintaining membership within two referendum committees at the campus’ University Student Union
Mareo-Ahmir is currently a Master’s student in the Learning, Design, and Technology program at the USC Rossier School of Education. He is a member of the Lambda Delta Tau Society, an alumni member of CSUN Sigma Tau Alpha Veterans Fraternity, Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success at CSUN, National Association of Black Journalists, Society of Motion Picture Engineers, and the Association for Talent and Development.
He is also a new member of the USC Student Alumni, the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs, and the Cardinal and Gold Mentorship Program.
